MADONNA AND CHILD WITH SAINTS. THE CRUSIFIXION

Signed and dated at the base of the Madonna's throne: PETRVS DE LIANORIS PINXIT 1440. This work is of interest as one of the few authentic signed and dated works by the well-known Bologna artist, who worked in the mid-15^th century.

Provenance: in the collection of the Counts Shuvalov in St. Petersburg; transferred from the Shuvalov Palace-Museum (Leningrad) to the Pushkin Museum in 1924.
