When in the collection of the Duke of Leuchtenberg this picture, now in the Pushkin Museum, was held to be the work of Giorgione; Cavalcaselle published it as a late variant of a composition by Licinio from the Sciarra collection in Rome (later in the Lazzaroni collection). The level of artistic execution in the Pushkin Museum's picture is, however, higher than that of the variant mentioned above.
