This picture was acquired by the Museum as a work of the Venetian school dating from the early 16th century; V. N. Lazarev attributed it to the Brescia school.
Provenance: in the collection of the Counts Shuvalov in St. Petersburg; acquired by the Pushkin Museum from the Shuvalov palace-museum (then Leningrad) in 1924.
