Evidently, this picture in the Pushkin Museum is linked with the work by Caffi above the canvas Last Hours of the Carnival in Rome painted c. 1850. The Correr Museum in Venice holds a preliminary drawing entitled Rome, Via del Corso dated c. 1848.

Provenance: in the collection of G.A.Brokar (Moscow) at the end of the 19th century; the property of his heirs after 1900; in the State Museums Foundation from 1918; in the Pushkin Museum since 1924.
