BACCHIACCA (FRANCESCO UBERTINI)
MADONNA AND CHILD
This picture in the Pushkin Museum is from the early period of the master's work and numbers among the finest paintings of that period. A small composition Tobias and the Angel in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence painted at the same time resembles it in style.
Provenance: collection of the Counts Shuvalov in St. Petersburg; acquired by the Pushkin Museum from the Shuvalov palace-museum (Leningrad) in 1924.
