MARTINI, SIMONE
SAINT AUGUSTINE
Both works are from one and the same polyptych (altarpiece consisting of several parts) and can be assigned to the period when Martini and those employed in his workshop were working in Orvieto.
Provenance: acquired in Italy in the first decade of the 20th century by M.S.Shchokin, who donated it to the Pushkin Museum in 1909.
